The History of New Life
Our original location was at 200 S. Market St. in Muncy which we purchased in 1972. As God blessed the congregation, we outgrew the building and purchased our present facility in Pennsdale in 1987. It was not until 1994 that we had completed renovations in what was the old Pennsdale elementary school, that we moved into our present facilities in Pennsdale.
Our vision was to establish a place of: worship, training, and evangelism that would reach out to families and people both locally and around the world, with the message of Jesus Christ. New Life is a Spirit-filled ministry with a Christ-centered message. After people are born into the Kingdom of God, it is our goal to help them to grow up in Christ, be discipled, and be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ so that they can be strong, useful citizens of the Kingdom of God and of our nation.
Come grow with us as we march forward towards the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Pastors

New Life was founded in 1972 by senior pastors Bob and Sandy Lauver. They moved to Muncy from International Bible College in San Antonio, Texas, where they graduated from college and taught in that school for four years. New Life was started first as a Bible college and training academy for young people who were preparing for missions work and Christian ministry in their local churches. It was out of the Bible college that New Life Church was formed.
Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:-16-17
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and is Emmanuel (“God with us”, the Messiah).
Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:22-23, John 1:14
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God and His divine nature is undivided and indivisible. There exist three distinctions in the divine essence, known as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10, Luke 3:22, 1 John 5:7
We believe that man came into being through a special creative act of God. Man is the crowning part of God’s creation, in that he was created in God’s image and was given dominion over the earth. We also believe that God is the creator of both heaven and earth, and all living things.
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-28
We believe in repenting and turning away from sin, in being baptized in water for the circumcision of the heart, in the in-filling of the Holy Ghost and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and the prayer of faith for healing.
Acts 2:38, Colossians 2:11, Mark 16:17-18, James 5:14-15
We believe Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, ascended on high, and is now seated at the right hand of God, and that God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Ephesians 4:8-10, Hebrews 1:3, Acts 2:36
We believe at the Lord's coming, Christ shall judge both the living and the dead, and He shall reward the righteous and punish the wicked.
2 Timothy 4:1, Acts 10:42
We believe that there is only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5
We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and that the name of Jesus is the only name God has exalted and given to the church, and the only name to which the Spirit bears witness.
Colossians 1:18, Acts 4:12, Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19, Acts 2:38, Colossians 3:17, Philippians 2:9
We believe Jesus Christ will return to this earth in bodily form; and at His coming there will be a resurrection of the dead when our corruptible bodies shall be changed into an eternal, incorruptible body.
Acts 1:9-11, 1 Corinthians 15:51-53
We believe at the Lord's coming, Christ shall judge both the living and the dead, and He shall reward the righteous and punish the wicked.
2 Timothy 4:1, Acts 10:42
We believe that God speaks today. We believe that hearing from God, both individually as members and corporately as a church and association of churches, through prophecy or any other biblical means chosen by God to communicate, is essential to our faith and walk with God. Prophecy and prophetic utterance is only one method of discerning God's will and direction and it is recognized that none of the methods or channels of prophecy will always be 100 percent accurate and actions should not be taken on the basis of prophetic words alone without other confirmation. We believe that prophetic presbytery serves the purpose in the Body of Christ in activating, establishing, releasing, commissioning, and ordaining gifts to their office, function, and place of relationship and/or leadership.
1 Cor. 14:3, Eph. 4:11, Eph. 2:20, 1 Tim. 4:14, Acts 13:1-3, Titus 1:5, Rom. 12:6, 1 Peter 4:10, 1 Cor. 14:39, 1 Cor. 14:1, 1 Thess. 5:19-21, 1 Tim. 5:22, 2 Tim. 1:6
We believe God uses the diverse gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the church body and its members. These gifts include: prophecy, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, healing, miracles, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discernment of spirits, faith.
1 Corinthians 12: 27-30
We believe in tithing by giving ten percent of one’s income to the local church body as commanded to us in God’s Word. We teach that the giving of ten percent of one’s income to be an integral part of the Christian’s walk with the Lord. Tithing demonstrates God’s ownership in our lives, and God’s blessing of prosperity which are promised to those who tithe.
Malachi 3:8-12
We believe that Jesus Christ is alive and active in our world through the power of the Holy Spirit. He can and does heal sick bodies, minds and emotions.
Psalm 30:2, Matt. 10:1, Matt. 10:8
We believe in practicing the sacraments as outlined in God’s Word for: Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, Footwashing, and Anointing with Oil, Matrimony, and the Dedication of Children.
Matt. 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:7-20, John 13:1-17, James 5:14, Matt. 19:4-6, 2 Tim. 3:14-15
